What’s this project all about?
Cameron County is partnering with Montrose Environmental and Atlas Community Studios on a Market Study to help identify exciting new uses for vacant or underused properties, often called brownfields, in Cameron, Clearfield, and Potter Counties.
These are places that used to serve our communities but now sit empty. With the right planning and community support, they can be transformed into spaces that serve our towns again, whether that’s through new businesses, housing, recreation, or something entirely new.
What We’re Doing
Between now and Fall 2025, we’re:
- Looking at local trends in jobs, real estate, and business growth
- Talking to local leaders and reviewing county plans
- Identifying industries or business types that might be a good fit
- Hosting events and asking for your ideas and input
- Creating easy-to-understand visuals and resources to share what we’re learning
Why Your Voice Matters
This study isn’t just about numbers, it’s about what you want to see in your community. Your feedback will help guide decisions about how to bring these properties back to life in ways that benefit your town.
